    Recording voicemail

Anybody know how to record a voicemail from a landline phone? I ask because I want to record a message from my dad. It was the last words he said to anybody. It was to tell me happy birthday the day before he passed away. So if anybody can help me I'd be most appreciative.

You can use Skype on Windows with a program called Pamela Call Recorder (http://www.pamela-systems.com/). You may have to spend $5-$10 to get Skype credits to make a call to your home phone, but of course it will be absolutely worth it and should be a very straightforward procedure. Pamela saves in the MP3 format - just use Skype to call your home number, have Pamela set to record your calls and then let it play through the messages you want to record.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks burton. I'll give that a try when I get home later.

Easier, would be to hold up your cell phone to the earpiece of your landline and do a voice recording. Then send that file to yourself via e-mail or file transfer. I've done that before and it works just fine.

You could even use a tape deck then play that back to your computer microphone to record.
